Spread the Love Challenge

I was tagged by Send Sunshine and A Momma’s View to participate in the Spread the Love Challenge, which began on Valentine’s Day.  Here are the rules:

1. Write 10 four-word sentences about love
2. Share your favorite quote or poem filled with love
3. Nominate 10 more bloggers to spread more love

Love embraces your quirks… It smiles obligingly at your compulsive need to check the alarm clock no less than twenty-six times each night, all the while knowing the clock has been set for the same time for years.

Love allows ugly crying… The sobbing, snotty, splotchy, hyperventilating kind of crying that may only be witnessed by those most deeply trusted, our greatest loves.

Love tells inside jokes… The shared cryptic phrases accompanied by a knowing glance and a half-suppressed grin.

Love tastes like cherry… The cherry flavored cold medicine procured for you by a loved one at the 24-hour pharmacy, at 1:00 a.m., on a work night.

Love sounds like purring…The healing purrs administered by a cat nestled on your bandaged, stapled post-surgery ribs.

Love looks for love… It seeks like-minded souls.  It grows and flourishes amid its own kind.  It multiplies.

Love has an appetite… It needs to be fed and nourished, lest it wither and starve.

Love creates great lyrics… It is a many splendored thing.  It is a battlefield.  It hurts.  It stinks.  It lifts us up where we belong.

Love does not exclude… It is not a private club.  It is open to anyone who is open to it.

Love is perfectly imperfect… It is clumsy and awkward.  It is beautifully flawed.  It is wonderfully scarred.

“I fell in love with her courage, her sincerity, and her flaming self respect. And it’s these things I’d believe in, even if the whole world indulged in wild suspicions that she wasn’t all she should be. I love her and it is the beginning of everything.” ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

I nominate the following:

Ok, I’m going to bend the rules here and nominate all of you.  I nominate and highly encourage anyone who loves love to participate.  It feels good to share and spread love, and it is far sight better than much of the vitriol that is spread throughout the internet!  Cheers! Karen

    Love enjoys the quiet.
    Love is baking cookies.
    Love embraces change together.
    Love smiles at nothing.
    Love then smiles back.
    Love delivers surprise coffee!
    Love should be shared.
    Love starts with friendship.
    Love gives unconditionally, always.
    His Love never fails.

I loved you at your darkest. Romans 5:8
